MODUS COMMUNIS

The common way.

Modus Communis is a public installation devoted to the shared life of embodiment. IT IS AN invitATION into anonymous offerings of affirmation, confession, petition, gratitude, and longing. Each written word is an act of incarnation. What is carried privately in the body is entrusted to a common space.

This is not simple, performative art. rather, It is participation. A quiet ledger of lived experience. Here, breath becomes language, language becomes offering, and offering becomes communal presence. The box stands as a visible sign that faith is not abstract, and the human person is not disembodied. Our petitions are not ideas. They are borne in flesh.

Modus Communis gathers these fragments of human experience without spectacle. It is a practice of attention to the shared condition of being embodied together. What is placed within it is unseen yet not lost. It becomes part of the common way. RHYTHMICALLY, A SELECTION IS PLACED IN THE PUBLIC VIEW AS IF TO UNAPOLOGETICALLY ECHO THE WORDS OF CHRIST, HOC EST CORPUS MEUM…

this is my body.

Currently, you can find Modus Communis
