MODUS COMMUNIS

The common way.

Modus Communis is a public installation devoted to the shared life of embodiment. IT IS AN invitATION into anonymous offerings of affirmation, confession, petition, gratitude, and longing. Each written word is an act of incarnation. What is carried privately in the body is entrusted to a common space and method of conversation.

This is true somatic participation starting with a conversation. A quiet ledger of lived experience. Here, breath becomes language, language becomes offering, and offering becomes communal presence. The box stands as a visible sign that faith and embodiment are not abstract. Our petitions, prayers, and longings are not ideas. They are borne in flesh.

Modus Communis gathers these fragments of human experience without brooding spectacle. It is a practice of attention to the shared condition of being embodied together. What is placed inside the box is unseen yet not lost. It becomes part of a common way of being. over time, A Submission IS anonymously PLACED IN THE PUBLIC VIEW AS IF TO UNAPOLOGETICALLY ECHO THE WORDS OF CHRIST, HOC EST CORPUS MEUM… and offer a place to continue our much needed conversations about what it means to be a body.

Thank you for your time and thoughtful considerations.
